There is new legislation<https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=http://www.legtrack.com/bill.html%3fbill%3d201520160SB1359&c=E,1,w8zRYsnxT6S6kI4wcybiSYrVv-XzzIz07ZZtJTq_l3GMMG46SWOoJ-nh46g8goPpxR1vS5aZ01I_1qdQP67lc5G9Xwi4_WQdlfPWBOY8wT5xeksmbCYW&typo=1> which takes effect January 2018 requiring colleges to "identify in the online version of the campus course schedule its courses that exclusively use digital course materials, as specified, and communicate to students that the course materials for these courses are free of charge and therefore not required to be purchased." I realize that this notice is coming to you after the Proof #2 deadline and I beg your indulgence due to the chaos of the past couple of weeks. You will most likely need to ask your faculty to self-report the use of such materials so that we can assign this designation to their sections. Once you know which sections qualify, please do one of the following:


1.    Indicate on your Proof #2, whether any sections meet the requirements of using free, digital course materials, by writing "Free Materials" next to those section numbers  or

2.    Email the course name, section number, and instructor name to Cheri Winter and she will then make a note of these sections.

A special symbol will be added to them in both the printed and online versions of the schedule of classes. Note, such courses can still require "supplies" such as sketchpads, chef coats, etc.
