$23.50 per hour, up to 25 hours per week
Anticipated start date March 28, 2016 through July 28, 2016
Potential Interview Date: March 10, 2016

SCOPE:
Under direction, assist the development, implementation, and evaluation of Native American Summer Bridge program at SRJC for high school students.

DUTIES:

*         Work collaboratively with Counseling, teaching faculty, Student Equity Office, and other departments to provide outreach to Native Americans in high schools and communities;

*         Recruit Native American students into the Summer Bridge program;

*         Coordinate events and activities for the Native American Summer Bridge students;

*         Develops and maintains database systems for monitoring participant attendance, progress, and service referrals;

*         Serve as a resource person/liaison on behalf of the students served;

*         Develop partnership with community agencies to create service learning opportunities for Native American Students;

*         Assist in supervising students;

*         Perform other duties as required by the Native American Summer Bridge program.

ABILITY TO:
Work independently with minimum supervision; organize and handle a variety of projects simultaneously; track and compile statistical information; plan and present to individuals and groups; efficient in computer programs for office and outreach; prepare and present written and verbal reports; supervise students; follow and give oral and written directions; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate Degree or equivalent

Experience:
Experience working in community outreach programs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Experience:
Experience working within Native American educational and cultural programs preferred.
