[ITT-staff] Faculty Proof 3 Fall 2020 Tentative Assignments - A First Look! - ITT

To all in ITT,

Attached is the department sections of Proof 3.

We had to make two primary decisions for courses and assignments:

  1.  What courses could be offered in a fully remote/online format
  2.  Following faculty contract load requirements

This modified schedule is 63% less than our normal course offerings for a Fall semester.  I am aware that directly impacts our adjunct faculty group.  We may have the opportunity to offer some courses in Summer 2021, but that has not been finalized yet.

IF something changes with regards to the shelter in place / COVID-19 / County Health Officer information, we will adjust or add courses back.  At this time we are unable to predict that occurring for Fall 2020.

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

The AFA/District Contract Article 16.01 states, "AFA and the District recognize that the hourly assignment process must reflect a spirit of fairness, lack of bias, and transparency toward faculty members filling those assignments. The provisions of this Article recognize the importance of providing a measure of job security to faculty members teaching on an hourly basis and the importance of meeting District needs."

The District, as part of the process outlined in Article 16.02.A.6.c. (below) has uploaded a proof of the Fall 2020 Schedule of Classes to the link shown below.

16.02 DISTRICT, DEPARTMENT, AND FACULTY RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. DISTRICT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

6. The District will communicate with faculty in order to promote transparency in making hourly assignments.

c. As soon as possible after the development of Proof 2, the District will post the Proof and email the faculty to notify them of this posting.

d. On the day the Class Schedule for each term is posted on the College's Web site, the District will notify all faculty of this posting, which constitutes the District's approval of the schedule and the offer of hourly assignments.

The proof is in PDF format and is a complete list of the classes scheduled based on Proof 3 data entry.  The schedule is subject to change until posted to the web.

The easiest and quickest way to find your assignment is to search by your schedule name.  Click on the link above to open the file in Acrobat Reader.  Press  the "Control" key  and  the letter "F" on your keyboard.  A search box will appear.  Type in your last name and first initial and click on "Next".   If you have more than one assignment, each time you click on "Next" it will take you to the next place your name appears in the schedule.  You can also search by class or by discipline if you prefer.  For example, just type in "Psych 1A" or "Psychology" in the search box and click on "Next".

If you have any questions regarding your assignments please contact your Department Chair.  The Schedule will be posted to the College's web site today, Friday, May 22nd at 5:00pm.
