Happy end of the semester!  This is a friendly reminder that all final grades are due.

All spring 2018 final grade rosters must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm Friday, June 1, 2018 via the faculty portal in SIS.  Faculty will not have access to their spring 2018 rosters after this date as we will be finalizing the spring semester.  Please plan accordingly to ensure that your final grade rosters and hours are officially submitted before this date.

Good afternoon VPs, Deans and Administrative Assistants,

Final grades are not late yet - but faculty only have two more days to submit - there are still 297 rosters outstanding at this time.  Please be in touch with each faculty who is still on the "section tracking list" to make sure they will be submitting on time.  Please encourage them to submit on Thursday - so IT, Canvas, and A&R staff are here to assist them if needed - staff will be working till 5:00 on Thursday.  Thank you for all your assistance to get all grades in by the deadline.  Please get in touch with me Thursday if you have any questions or issues.

Please be aware there are some Canvas issues - I sent out an email to faculty today and have copied the Canvas instructions below.  Instructors should not wait till Friday to submit.

Please check if you have Instructors who have no email listed in Section Tracking - they are not receiving any of my emails.  Please make sure these Instructors know about the deadline.

Canvas Instructors: Enable Grading Scheme to Post Final Grades to the Faculty Portal

We've learned instructors are having difficulty posting Canvas Spring 2018 final grades to the Faculty Portal.

Please follow the tutorial at the link below to enable the SRJC Default Grading Scheme in your course. A grading scheme is required for downloading and posting final grades to the Portal.

Other important reminders:

 *      GRADE CHANGES:  The Instructor Grade Change Request Form is available in your faculty portal.  This form is available in the "myDocuments" section of your faculty portal.  If you have a grade change to report to A&R, please use this new form.  It can be completed and submitted entirely online or email it to me at driedmuller at santarosa.edu<mailto:driedmuller at santarosa.edu>.

 *     INCOMPLETE GRADES:  Incomplete "I" grades cannot be submitted via the faculty portal.  Faculty must enter the default grade on the final roster, and once A&R receives and approves the Request for Incomplete Grade form, then the "I" grade will be posted (mid-June).  The Incomplete form is still a paper form at this point as it requires adjudication in A&R.  The student or instructor can pick up or request the form to be emailed from Admissions & Records.

*       POSITIVE HOUR ROSTERS:  Please be sure to enter grades AND attendance hours for each student as this is how the college receives funding for these types of courses - do not enter zeroes.  All attendance hours count, therefore, even if the student has dropped or failed the class, we need to collect their participation hours.
*      CANVAS GRADES:  When you open the grade submission page in your SIS portal, you'll find a button allowing you to "Download grades from Canvas." This option will automatically populate your grade list from your Final Grades in Canvas. Note that you will still have the option to edit these grades before submitting them. Please carefully read the Canvas Grades Note for important information about the way your Canvas gradebook settings can affect the way these grades are calculated.
