AB 705 wEBSITE AVAILABLE
Laura Hope
To keep practitioners apprised of the conversation regarding the implementation of AB 705, the Chancellor's Office, with the help of the Foundation, has established a website to house minutes, updates, and presentations. Look for initial guidance soon, as well as professional development opportunities in the future to support classroom faculty and support professionals strategize about how to engage reforms consistent with the legislation. The website can be found here: https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https://assessment.cccco.edu/ab-705-implementation/&c=E,1,0KIBHKa1jXQ5KQGziRqG-NwdxSvAbbBxu-HM9Ow2jmRkjTcCCJjR2NIiibgFfihoa0YQifO34JLlst-bkRAKsz0c7778TcJl1oAr4EA2J4CZgV2tRpY,&typo=1
Guided pathways multi-year Plan due this month
Laura Hope
All 114 colleges have committed to the exploration and implementation of the guided pathways framework, and they are working toward the development of the Multi-Year Plan. As many already know, the plan covers the first 18 months, which may primary focus on developing a governance structure and a plan to expand inquiry. As many of the panelists at the planning workshops have reinforced, the implementation of guided pathways is a long-term commitment. To experience the rewards of the work, a plan that engages the inquiry process is appropriate for the 77% of colleges who rated their college's current status as "early adoption" in this process. Directions about how to submit the plan to the electronic NOVA platform will be issued on Monday, March 5, 2018. Please also take a look at the monthly newsletter GP Connect<https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=http://californiacommunitycolleges.cccco.edu/GPNewsletterTest.aspx&c=E,1,J9xcviQhtiYFG75V2qlfZh_cj_16HHWa7DD4rt1hC2Sx_q8e_Qw5nfwBxck8MexZpucqnLw818YZsltOF1DYWNFl6fExtasJvZufefDmwmnKGATPRYtdOQEwXe7OHg,,&typo=1> to stay up to date about latest on the state's process of implementation.

CHANCELLOR'S OFFICE CURRICULUM INVENTORY 2.0 - NONCREDIT STREAMLINING
Jackie Escajeda / Chantée Guiney
The Chancellor's Office, in collaboration with the California Community Colleges Curriculum Committee (5C) has established a workgroup to lead efforts on streamlining noncredit curriculum approvals. In 2016, the Chancellor's Office announced a streamlined and automated approval process for credit courses. The transition to an automated approval process for credit courses required minor revisions to California Code of Regulations (CCR) title 5 and was approved by the Board of Governors. Noncredit curriculum was not included in the 2016 curriculum streamlining project, as provisions of the California Education Code (CEC) and title 5 require the Chancellor's Office to approve noncredit courses and programs. Efforts are currently underway to examine a streamlined and automated approval process for noncredit curriculum submitted to the Chancellor's Office for an approval. The proposed streamlining of noncredit curriculum will include a phased-in approach that focuses on the automated approval of Career Development and College Preparation (CDCP) certificate programs (as described in title 5 sections 55150<https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https://govt.westlaw.com/calregs/Document/I46A88770325E11E194EACEFFB46E37D1%3fviewType%3dFullText%26originationContext%3ddocumenttoc%26transitionType%3dCategoryPageItem%26contextData%3d&c=E,1,zQeYvDKi5YL-niDNsyVkiEl_8Wwby1mq1hufyTgy2-8-S5QjaEIVYYN9mEq2L70wJl5LkoX4MMBXIaIFKT3AnNw90KtSO9-7rY0ocWzUZ_n0fzvRlhPv&typo=1(sc.Default)&bhcp=1> and 55151<https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https://govt.westlaw.com/calregs/Document/I471FB340325E11E194EACEFFB46E37D1%3fviewType%3dFullText%26originationContext%3ddocumenttoc%26transitionType%3dCategoryPageItem%26contextData%3d&c=E,1,rOwqCkfitK-kyj5j2Ul9rWzXUTyMMyBP5_jTlhhhGNHq30vWPEEi2qKh_sIjPgJrv3G_uwJik2aNOb04uzfKvF88hy9d6ootigzGwqyO3KyVwNYNk9w,&typo=1(sc.Default)&bhcp=1>) first, and a subsequent expansion into all noncredit course categories eligible for apportionment, as described in title 5 sections 55002<https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https://govt.westlaw.com/calregs/Document/I02E2C60D166D4806B63BA4AF82F76323%3foriginationContext%3dSearch+Result%26listSource%3dSearch%26viewType%3dFullText%26navigationPath%3dSearch%252fv3%252fsearch%252fresults%252fnavigation%252fi0ad62d2e00000161da2a3ff665965cbe%253fstartIndex%253d1%2526Nav%253dREGULATION_PUBLICVIEW%2526contextData%253d&c=E,1,gAwCiSOWdgJzCDRoDqDaMC55ohMkloMBFelMgvC56dpZ0Vo1aAJv63tvMltG9MNO_wbK7JN4tUtWdgfAcA--yCcFlCQuq_M7r1SmhEH9US4,&typo=1(sc.Default)&rank=1&list=REGULATION_PUBLICVIEW&transitionType=SearchItem&contextData=(sc.Search)&t_T1=5&t_T2=55002&t_S1=CA+ADC+s>, 55150<https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https://govt.westlaw.com/calregs/Document/I46A88770325E11E194EACEFFB46E37D1%3foriginationContext%3dSearch+Result%26listSource%3dSearch%26viewType%3dFullText%26navigationPath%3dSearch%252fv3%252fsearch%252fresults%252fnavigation%252fi0ad62d2e00000161da18d29365965c45%253fstartIndex%253d1%2526Nav%253dREGULATION_PUBLICVIEW%2526contextData%253d&c=E,1,QHdFl4i_8KpXPGUbtCPEijN-pHl0Svs_aquMev81M4AYAEqDnJw4EhCqjT_RCaxvjIottvrI1kQMhqKGKt4NGjRXKsVbidiVRoukBKiUzsg,&typo=1(sc.Default)&rank=1&list=REGULATION_PUBLICVIEW&transitionType=SearchItem&contextData=(sc.Search)&t_T1=5&t_T2=55150&t_S1=CA+ADC+s> and 58160<https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https://govt.westlaw.com/calregs/Document/ICD8C81D0D48511DEBC02831C6D6C108E%3foriginationContext%3dSearch+Result%26listSource%3dSearch%26viewType%3dFullText%26navigationPath%3dSearch%252fv3%252fsearch%252fresults%252fnavigation%252fi0ad62d2e00000161da17f1d365965c40%253fstartIndex%253d1%2526Nav%253dREGULATION_PUBLICVIEW%2526contextData%253d&c=E,1,ibNBFtLjI09O5miDipcvjO2zVckuxKURcK9o-OvFyP_mtCUrRAUPZSncLV4kgniKPG-jVKoVAy5hJeGBgYHKUAAg_CzI5MeS-ds5JxnL28K1hr6jCN9a1FB1i59cYA,,&typo=1(sc.Default)&rank=1&list=REGULATION_PUBLICVIEW&transitionType=SearchItem&contextData=(sc.Search)&t_T1=5&t_T2=58160&t_S1=CA+ADC+s>.
