<h1>CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE CURRICULUM INVENTORY 2.0 - NONCREDIT STREAMLINING <o:p></o:p></h1>
<h2>Jackie Escajeda / Chantée Guiney <o:p></o:p></h2>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Chancellor’s Office, in collaboration with the California Community Colleges Curriculum Committee (5C) has established a workgroup to lead efforts on streamlining noncredit curriculum approvals. In 2016, the Chancellor’s Office announced
a streamlined and automated approval process for credit courses. The transition to an automated approval process for credit courses required minor revisions to California Code of Regulations (CCR) title 5 and was approved by the Board of Governors. Noncredit
curriculum was not included in the 2016 curriculum streamlining project, as provisions of the California Education Code (CEC) and title 5 require the Chancellor’s Office to approve noncredit courses and programs. Efforts are currently underway to examine a
streamlined and automated approval process for noncredit curriculum submitted to the Chancellor’s Office for an approval. The proposed streamlining of noncredit curriculum will include a phased-in approach that focuses on the automated approval of Career Development
and College Preparation (CDCP) certificate programs (as described in title 5 sections
