An Exceptional Career Opportunity: Laboratory Internship (Part-Time)
THE OPPORTUNITY
CMSA, located in San Rafael, CA, operates a regional wastewater agency in Marin County. CMSA treats wastewater and bio solids collected from households and businesses in central Marin County and operates a recycled water facility and an innovative organic waste-to-energy facility. Significant projects are currently in planning and design to expand CMSA's power delivery program to produce sufficient renewable power to supply all of the facility's energy needs, and export excess renewable power into the grid. The CMSA Laboratory is an ELAP certified laboratory and is certified for several analyses including Total & Fecal Coliform, Enterococci, Alkalinity, Hardness, TSS, Ammonia, cBOD, BOD, and Acute Toxicity.
Under general supervision of the Regulatory Compliance Manager
(RCM), the Laboratory Intern will conduct sampling and analyses associated with standard physical, chemical, biological, and bacteriological tests for CMSA's Digester Pilot Study. This innovative study will answer important wastewater industry questions. The purpose of the study is to determine the maximum practical upper limit(s) of external organic feedstock loading to a digester process. Several national wastewater industry experts are participating as technical advisors on this study.

Skills and Qualifications: The ideal candidate shall have the ability to interact with co-workers in a professional manner; to recognize the need for, and to seek, assistance or clarification as needed; to work independently; to handle work related stress in a professional
manner; to prioritize assignments and meet dead- lines; to arrive at work on time and to work the scheduled hours.
The preferred working hour window for this internship is Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. An alternative schedule can be accommodated. This is a part-time position and total work hours are limited to a maximum of approximately 20 hours per week.
COMPENSATION
The hourly wage is $20/hour.
