Dear Health Science Students,



I wanted to write to tell you about a new program that is being offered this year.



The SSS TRiO HOPE (Health Occupation Preparation and Education) Program is a support program for students who are interested in pursuing a career in health.  Attached you will find a flyer and an application for the program. This program will provide support in the following areas.



1)      Academic Counseling

2)      Financial Aid

3)      Scholarships

4)      Mentoring

5)      Job shadowing and internships in health related experiences



The program is accepting applications from students who fit in one or more of the following categories:



1)      Students with Financial Need

2)      First Generation College Students (neither parent has a bachelor's degree or higher)

3)      Academic Need

4)      Students with Disabilities



I HOPE you will consider filling out the attached application, and returning it to the Health Sciences Administrative Offices, Race Building 4062.  Interviews will be held throughout the Spring Semester and we will be accepting 120 students into this program.  Once accepted, you can be in the program until you either complete a certificate or degree, graduate, or transfer.  I HOPE to hear from you soon.
