The SSS TRiO HOPE Program is looking for an Advisor I

This is a STNC position (40 hrs/wk) $14.50/hr

Under the direction of the SSS HOPE Director, conducts various activities related to Department and program goals.   Serves as a resource person/liaison on behalf of the students served. Develops, and maintains database systems for monitoring participant attendance, progress, and referrals.  Works with District's Student information System to retrieve student information. Identifies barriers to student success, determines needs, and arranges for assistance such counseling, tutoring or other assistance. Assists participants with paperwork such as financial aid applications, BOGG fee waivers, scholarships, developing resumes and completing employment applications.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: At least two years of college.  Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: Any combination equivalent to completion of two years of college and one year of experience working in a technical position with traditionally underrepresented students served by grant funded programs in a community college or similar institution. Experience working with low income, first generation is highly desirable.
