Under direction, this position reviews and processes non-physician or facility-administered and non-specialty medication prior authorization requests using established criteria; assists the department with internal and external issue resolution and communications requiring specialized pharmacy technical ability and expertise; and performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires a valid California State Board of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Technician License as well as a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a retail or Managed Care setting.  An equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be qualifying.
