General Summary of Duties: The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for processing prescriptions renewal in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and obtaining insurance authorizations as required. In addition, the Pharmacy Technician interacts with the pharmaceutical sales representatives, reviews the sample medication inventory and coordinates the re-stock of these medications. Also supports the medical assistant team in patient care duties.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Minimum Qualifications:
 Pharmacy Technician licensure.
 Professional demeanor and courteous attitude.
 Ability to respect confidentiality of patient data.
 Excellent written and oral modes of interpersonal communication.
 High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree.

Preferred Qualifications:
 National certification preferred.
 Two years experience in the cardiovascular outpatient setting preferred.
