The College Skills/Tutorial Department is seeking a 6-hour/week STNC Instructional Assistant for the Petaluma Campus Academic Skills Lab for the Fall 2013 semester, with possible extension to Spring 2014.



•         Job description: The Instructional Assistant supports the Academic Skills Lab instructor by helping students with GED preparation, especially math and English. Responsibilities include: orienting new students; giving initial assessments; assisting students with their independent computer activities in math, reading, and writing; scoring practice GED tests; tracking student progress; and organizing learning materials.



•         Hours: Tues/Thurs, 6-9:00 p.m. throughout the Fall semester.



•         Location: Petaluma Academic Skills Lab



•         Pay: $12.06/hr, standard rate for STNC instructional assistant



•         Qualifications: AA degree or higher, or equivalent (Example: at least one year of college plus 1 year of tutoring or other education-related experience). Completion of Beginning Algebra (MATH 151) or higher.
