regular and effective contact between the instructor and students. During an evaluation or during accreditation, you have to be able to show regular and effective contact, “demonstrating that the instructor builds and fosters classroom community in online
courses by fostering ongoing student engagement through dynamic and interactive discussions, forums, and group activities.” If a course can’t show that, it is considered correspondence, SRJC can’t collect apportionment, and it could lead to a needs improvement
evaluation. Other examples of correspondence courses include self-paced or regular contact that is student initiated rather than instructor initiated.<span style="color:#1F497D">
