Danny, et al.,
My understanding was/is that we could increase the size of the waitlist on a per class basis. Per my request, Jesse did this for ATL 101 for Spring. The waitlist for the three ATL 101 sections wasn't completely uncapped, but it was doubled from 4 to 8.
The total seats for each section is 20, the waitlist is 8, and enrollment is full, i.e. 28 enrolled, 0 seats available, for all three sections.
I have not as yet received any additional requests for add codes.
As with previous semesters, my intention is to winnow the class down to 20 based on attendance and performance in the first 2-3 weeks. I inform the students of this on the first day and remind them as the semester progresses.
Best,

What ever became of trying to get waitlist students uncapped so that all students can get onto the waitlist? That is the only way to track demand for courses, we all know not all students are going to email for an add code.

Dear Faculty Colleagues:
As students are signing up for our classes for the Spring 2026 semester, AFA wants to know how many requests you are getting for add codes for your classes. We want to collect this information and share it with the administration and the Board of Trustees, so that they are aware of the need to add more sections. We also want the administration and the Board to realize the amount of emails each faculty member is receiving and responding to, which is a work load issue.
Please fill out this Google form<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe45m5n4hqTfGISDiCFuW1gwCWgiwk7iKkYOSES_s9CT6Yfww/viewform> <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe45m5n4hqTfGISDiCFuW1gwCWgiwk7iKkYOSES_s9CT6Yfww/viewform> when you receive an email from a student asking for an add code.
Ultimately, our goal is to use this information to recommend to the District that more sections of certain courses are needed to serve student needs.
Thank you for taking the time to help us collect this information.
