This is a reminder that the nomination period for At-Large contract faculty seats* is open and will close tomorrow at 12 p.m.  Friday, May 10th, 2024.

*Recently, elections were held for all senator seats whose term expires this May. In 4 of the Areas, no candidate ran. We are now calling for contract faculty to serve in these areas through an at-large election. All candidates will run on one ballot and you will be allowed to vote for up to 4 candidates. If there are more than four candidates, those with the 4 largest pluralities of votes will be elected. Every effort will be made by the Academic Senate Executive Committee to seat these successful candidates in areas most closely related to their own discipline area. Once the nomination period (two weeks) is closed, elections will be open for one week.

All eligible faculty members may vote for at-large representatives. Faculty members elected must be available to attend Academic Senate meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each Academic Year from 3:15 to 5:00 p.m.
After completion of the normal two-year term, the at-large position will become an area position again. The top candidates with the highest number of votes will fill these at-large positions and be assigned to Areas 2, 3, 4 or 11 after the election.
