April 14 - Senior Day
All high school Seniors are welcome to attend Senior Day. Senior Day will provide opportunities for students to complete most of, or the rest of, their Success Steps...all while being supported by caring and knowledgeable SRJC staff. Services provided include placement testing, an Enrollment Services Lab to complete the application for admission, the Doyle Scholarship, and get help with the FAFSA. In-Person Orientations will be presented, and the SRJC Counseling Department will have Counselors on staff to complete Education Plans with students who have completed placement testing in advance. Please note that the Petaluma Campus Senior Day (April 21) has been cancelled due to a small number of sign-ups.

Join us in celebrating world languages and cultures on World Heritage Day! The Santa Rosa Junior College World Languages Department warmly invites you to bring your students to SRJC to discover the excitement of diverse world languages and cultures!

When? Tuesday, April 18, 2018 (World Heritage Day)

Where? Santa Rosa Junior College, Emeritus Quad on the Santa Rosa Campus
Why? To celebrate World Languages and Cultures & to learn about SRJC's World Languages Department
What does "Nice to meet you" look like in ASL? What does traditional Cuban music sound like? What about Taiko drumming? What international snacks will the International Cafe have this year? These are some examples of the types of booths and entertainment we are planning - we'll have games, a dance contest, prizes, entertainment, and information about SRJC World Languages classes.
Spend an afternoon immersed in culture and language. We highly encourage you to plan a field trip for your language classes or club

Please share this phone number with your students. The phone hotline (707-521-7844) is provided to assist high school students and their counselors during registration for summer and fall classes. The number will be staffed by Admissions and Records professionals.

We want to reassure you and your students that the summer and fall class schedules at SRJC are on as planned. Seniors will be able to register as new students next week on April 18th-19th (Priority 3, for students who completed Coun 270) or April 20th (Priority 4, for students who completed an online or in-person orientation.) Concurrent Enrollment students may register during Priority 6 on April 26th.
The Student Outreach team will be out at many of your high schools to help students register for classes starting on April 18th.

California College Promise
We've been receiving questions about AB19, the California College Promise (the new name of the BOG Fee Waiver.) AB 19 waives fees for one academic year for first-time students who are enrolled in 12 or more units at the college and complete and submit either a Free Application for Federal Student Aid<https://fafsa.ed.gov/> or a California Dream Act application<https://dream.csac.ca.gov/>, regardless of income. As of now we are not sure how much funding SRJC will be receiving from the state for waived tuition. For now, we encourage all students to complete the FAFSA or the Dream App since this will definitely be a requirement to receive free tuition.
