Dear BPS Colleagues,

The college is having a soft opening of the District this Wednesday. We are doing a soft opening in order to reopen the District in phases. The soft opening will focus on student services and as a response to a request from many of our students to have a place to be, get administrative support, have computer and internet access, printing, showers, and study space in our libraries. A core group of buildings will open on the Santa Rosa and Petaluma campuses to offer these services. The details are below and official announcements will be sent to DL.STAFF.ALL.

Opening days and times: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9am to 4pm.
Closed Saturday and Sunday, reopening regular hours on Monday.

Library Services: Limited to providing building and facility support. No research or instruction support. The first floor of Doyle will not be open to the public.

Classes: Classes are scheduled to start back up on Monday. There are no instructional activities taking place for the rest of this week. As a reminder, no assignments or activities were (or are) happening during the two week closure. Any assignments or exams that were supposed to happen must be rescheduled unless the class ended because it was a short course. See the FAQ that just came out for more details.

Tauzer : The showers in Tauzer will be open for students, faculty, staff, and their immediate families from 9am- 4pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. We are working with Student Services to come up with enough towels and a system. Petaluma is also working on getting the showers open for that campus.

Masks: Masks will be on hand for staff. Maggini has some on each floor and a central campus distribution point will be announced if we run out.

Food: The District is currently working with Fresh & Natural to open services. The Bear's Den will be open at Santa Rosa. I am not sure of the status of Petaluma yet but am sure it will be similar in terms of food offerings.

Our framework as we return is compassion and flexibility. I want to thank all of you for your dedication to SRJC and our students.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
