Good Afternoon Jenni,

Confirming our Apple meeting on 2/22 at 3:00 with the Computer Studies Department and 4:00 with the Business Department.  I will reserve the Maggini conference room (2nd floor Maggini) and invite faculty.  I’m also including our Industrial Trade Department to participate in either group.


·         Computer Studies Department Chair – Donald Laird

o   Apple’s Everyone Can Code initiative.

o   Apple Teacher <http://www.apple.com/education/apple-teacher/> is a recently launched, free professional learning program designed to help faculty enhance their teaching and learning in a self-paced environment.  It goes from the very basics in using iPads to the more advanced teaching and learning options, productivity and collaboration skills, and even provides lesson ideas as you move through the resources.  My favorite part of the Apple Teacher program is all resources are found in one, easy-to-find, accessible location.

·         Business Administration Department Chair – Roy Gattinella

o   The Business Department recently purchased an iPad cart with 40 ipads

o   Exploring ways to integrate iPads into the business curriculum

·         Industrial Trade Technology Department Chair – Cliff Norton

o   Machine, Auto, Diesel, Welding – do iPads have a place here?


Faculty, please RSVP with Cece so we can get a count of who is attending.  If you have any questions or suggestions for the Apple reps that are coming to show us all their cool stuff, please reply all.




Joel Davies, MFA, joined Apple in May 2012 after 13 years as the Associate Professor of Design and Development at Creighton University. He specialized in curriculum design and taught digital video, graphic design, web design and development, plus basic iOS development.  He was the Director of the Creighton Apple Authorized Training Center, a Final Cut Studio Master Trainer and a member of the Apple Distinguished Educator Class of 2007.  Joel has a Master of Fine Arts from Indiana State University in Multimedia and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Creighton University.


