Attached is the Sonoma County Economic Development Board’s 2nd issue of the Job Market Tracker with newly available data and insights for the month of January 2016. Included is our monthly analysis of real-time online job postings, aggregated from over 25,000 sources, as well as a bonus feature highlighting trends in the Tech industry over the past year.

HIGHLIGHTS

·         Nearly 8,900 available job openings during the January 2016 monthly reporting period a 13% increase from January 2015.

·         The Retail Trade industry continues to display the highest number of available job postings with 783 openings, making up 8.8% of available jobs in January with 188 new jobs.

·         The Manufacturing industry more than doubled the number of new job postings from December to January.

·         Tech industry job openings grew 25% to 1,136 available job openings in 2015.

·         The median salary for the Tech industry was $79,950 in 2015, 46% higher than the $54,850 median salary for all industries.
