Substance Abuse Counselor - Methadone Program

Center Point DAAC (Drug Abuse Alternatives Center) seeks a Full Time (36 hours per week) counselor to work in the REAP Methadone Maintenance and Detoxification Program providing individual counseling, assessments, treatment planning and case management.

Minimum of 2 Years Experience providing Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment. Prior experience working in a Methadone Program highly desirable. Experience working with diverse clients. Knowledge of harm reduction, the principles and techniques of case management, crisis intervention, and client-centered counseling and group facilitation.

Applicants must be registered/certified/licensed to provide counseling services in an Alcohol and Other Drug Program.

After three months, Medical, Dental, Vacation and Sick leave will be offered.

Part-Time/On-Call Entry Level AOD Treatment Counselor
The part-time/on-call entry level AOD treatment counselor reports directly to the program director and assists with the oversight of both the residential detoxification program and the short-term residential program (both English and monolingual Spanish tracks). The program is located on the campus of Napa State Hospital.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Will be primarily responsible for assisting clients in developing skills and knowledge in a residential substance abuse treatment setting. Duties include intake, assessments, completion of appropriate mental health (co-occurring) assessments, addiction severity index (ASI), and other intake requirements. Maintains a client caseload.
