Job Description: As an Intern you would select one of the following internships for the 2014-2015 school year Student Support Specialist Internship 2014-2015 Minimum 1 Full School Year Commitment: for 15 hours per week: in collaboration with the RUP AVID Department, provide social/emotional, case management, work with community based organizations for referrals to services and program development for a case load of 30-40 students. After School Intervention & Prevention Specialist Internship 2014-2015 Minimum of 1 full school year commitment for 15 hours per week: provide academic support, social/emotional services and recreation programming during the after school hours for 200 students three days per week Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. AVID Tutor Specialists Internship: 2014-2015 Minimum of 1 full school year commitment for 10 hours per week: assist in RUP AVID classes providing academic support through the use of the AVID curriculum.

Job Requirements: Qualifications: Current College Students who are hardworking, dedicated and reliable. Must be passionate about wanting hands on experience and training working on a high school campus providing Student Support Services to 9th-12th grade students.

Job Description: Interns will work collaboratively under the direct supervision of the BGCMSSC Directors and staff to implement academic and enrichment programming for elementary and middle school students. The program is designed to give students' academic enrichment activities to improve their school outcomes and their interest in learning. The individual in this position will be interested and passionate about working with youth. This internship will ensure that students will receive substantial professional training, direction, supervision, and mentorship. The internship will provide an opportunity to experience first-hand work with youth in an educational setting. This is a great role for someone who is considering education or recreation as a possible career. $250-500 stipend at end of internship. College credit may be earned through SRJC.
