Job Description: Volunteer Coordinator Internship @ La Luz Center La Luz Center in Sonoma is seeking an intern for our volunteer program. The Volunteer Coordinator Intern will work together with our Volunteer Coordinator to assist with recruiting, planning, training, supervising, and recognition of volunteers. The task will be working in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator on our annual fundraising event which takes place on Saturday, August 3, 2013. The tasks include: Recruitment of volunteers Development of volunteer job descriptions Volunteer placement and scheduling for the event Training and supervising of volunteers before and during the event Managing of volunteer needs before, during, and after the event Volunteer recognition post-event Qualifications: Organized Detail-oriented Enthusiasm and patience working with volunteers of all ages Excellent written and oral communication skills Managerial experience a plus Bilingual Spanish-English, preferred Volunteer experience Event planning experience Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals and communities Flexible working style- ability to work independently and collaborate effectively This is three-month stipend internship (June through August), and college course credit can be given. The internship will be approximately 10-20 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
